The Directorates-General responsible for implementing the Research and Technological Development (RTD) Policy of the Commission of the European Communities are inviting tenders for contracts not exceeding a total of three years for the management of projects and contracts under the Fifth RTD Framework Programme. |
Successful applicants will be entered in a data base and may be used to fill any highly specialised vacancies which arise in these Directorates-General between 1999 and 2002.
The general conditions are:
Nationality: Must be a national of one of the
European Union's Member States.
Place of employment: All places of employment, often outside the
candidate's country of origin.
Knowledge of languages: A thorough knowledge of one official
European Union language (Danish, Dutch, English, Finnish, French, German, Greek,
Italian, Portuguese, Spanish or Swedish) and a satisfactory knowledge of a
second Union language.

LITC, the research, evaluation and publishing centre for information and library technology based at the University, has a national and European profile and is involved in a number of leading edge research projects and publishing developments. A unique opportunity has arisen for a forward-looking individual to work on a number of inter-related projects. In addition to strong IT and project management skills, the appointee is likely to be conversant with developments relating to library systems, the web generally, electronic copyright issues and electronic publishing.
